Home sweet home...

I am back home now, sitting in a bedroom I shared with my brother Robert for about 12 or thirteen years. There is a dormer window in the sloping ceiling through which the sun will shine tomorrow morning as it rises from behind the Long Range mountains. Tomorrow night I will watch the sun set behind the Indian Head mountains as I sit in our sun porch sipping on some Irish whiskey.

The bed that once belonged to my paternal grandfather is still here, though it does need a new mattress. I am sitting on a chair my great-grandparents brought from England in 1865. There is a metal bound sea chest that once belonged to my maternal grandfather and a fold up child's chair that belonged to my oldest son D'Arcy.

I am home, and at peace. Feel free to visit. Just call ahead in case we are all full.
