People and places....

We have been on the road for five days now and stopping in Aurora with Margo's brother Brian and his wife Joan has been a treat. We went out to where Brian keeps his horse Runaway. Then Joan took us out to lunch at a little place along the Fox River in Geneva.

The Mill Race Inn is a wonderful little place and the food is excellent. We ate in the Gazebo enjoying the food and watching the waterfowl play in the river. Margo decided she wanted a piece of their key lime pie. The server brought three forks and we all dug in. Margo liked it so much she was determined to get te recipe. We did try to cajole it out of the owner but he insisted we would have to talk with his pastry chef. Margo dutifully followed him inside while Joan and I chatted outside. Shortly after she came out pastry chef in tow. Turns out Laurie was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland in 1949. Her father was in the Air Force and had been stationed there in 1949, when she was born.

Sometimes, dessert can be really good for you.
