Just visiting?

I have not been back here since August. I am not sure whether it is because I have had nothing to say or perhaps that I was not ready to share my thoughts. But tonight I am in a more reflective mood and find myself tapping out my thoughts in this space.

I am burning a candle tonight for Lloyd Meade. You probably never met him or knew him but I did. Lloyd was that quiet gentle soul who moved through life touching people in ways they may never have consciously known. He was married to my cousin Maxine. I don't know how long they were together but I cannot remember them apart. His passing may well be noticed more than his presence. That is often what happens for people like Lloyd. It is in our grief that we begin to understand how much people like Lloyd mean to us.

So take a moment to look around at the people in your life. Who is really present but unremarked? Who would you really miss?

I will miss Lloyd.
