Grey day.. rainy day... you almost kept me in my bed
With covers pulled up to block your weak light
But I have work to do and coffee
Will get me past the spider webs in my head
And my umbrella will shield me from your drizzle
As I brave the damp to stretch my legs.
Grey day.. rainy day.. I know you bring green grass
And flowers and the wondrous smell of damp earth
Bursting out the new life that spring promises
But don't forget to yield the day to the sun
So all your work is not in vain.
A little heat from that blessed orb will complete your task
As I complete mine.
